Tibet birdwatching and Travel Information
Regulations for Western tourists in Tibet constantly change and final planning with me should be only done after contacting me!
Before I had here a long section about permits, individual travel, how to get into Tibet etc.
I had to delete this because the regualtions changed.
Right now it seems that only groups of minimum 5 persons ALL FROM ONE NATIONALITY(!!!) are allowed to get permits for Tibet.
Obviously authorities want to make it difficult for foreigners to get into Tibet (and actually they don't need foreign tourism any more at all ... foreign tourism only makes 2-5% of the annual tourism here in Tibet, the overwhelming majority is mainland Chinese tourism), but they also don't want to say to the world public that it is closed.
So these days I CAN NOT help with arranging a tour to Tibet with permits etc. Maybe this will change again in the future, I hope so, and I will let you know here.
But if you should manage to get into Tibet and have free time in Lhasa you can contact me and we can arrange some birdwatching!!!
News: since April 2013 individuals can come in on person groups with permit. Also there is no more restriction on the nationalities of group members.
I can help making permits!!! Please contact.
Please feel free to contact if you have more questions!
